Respiratory Protection Program
Industrial Hygiene Specialists
If your workers need respiratory protection as a part of their work, our experienced Industrial Hygienists can conduct a thorough survey of your workplace and provide solutions that will better-protect their respiratory health. Breathing in fumes, dust particles, or even toxic airborne waste like mold or material dust can all have serious negative health consequences, highlighting the importance to take every possible step to provide proper respiratory protection.
At American Environmental Group, we take your business’s respiratory protection needs seriously, offering individually-tailored solutions that effectively protect workers. We treat every client with attention and urgency, providing services that pay attention to the smallest details to ensure health and safety. Our team can even work with your human resources and workplace safety personnel to provide training for proper use of protective equipment so your business is best equipped to handle potential hazards.
Custom-Designed Respiratory Protection Solutions
At AEG, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all answer to respiratory protection issues, and that a quality solution can only be engineered after careful observation and thorough, highly-specific surveys of your workplace’s conditions. Our team of Scientists and Industrial Hygienists perform Qualitative Respiratory Fit-Testing in order to observe the hazards your workers face and then provide training for workers needing air purifying respirators to perform their tasks.
Some respiratory protection options include:
- Air purifiers
- Increased ventilation
- Personal respirators
OSHA’s Standards
OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 1910.134(e), states that the employer will ensure each employee is provided with a safe and healthy workplace free of hazards, and provide personal protective equipment if this isn’t possible. As an employer, you must determine each employee’s fitness to wear a respirator by way of either the administration of a medical questionnaire, a physical examination that elicits the same information as the questionnaire, or both. The employer is required to make arrangements with a physician or other licensed healthcare professional to make the evaluation, and provide a written opinion to the employer concerning the employee’s ability to use a respirator.
